Alexa Grasso Signing to the UFC?

Undefeated Mexican strawweight Alexa Grasso (7-0) has ripped through the Invicta roster, with wins over Ashley Cummins (3-3), Alida Gray (4-2), and Mizuki Inoue (8-4) since September 2014. The win over Inoue at Invicta FC 11 not only earned Grasso a FOTN bonus, but also had many in the MMA community wondering when Dana White would bring her over to the UFC.
She seems like a sure fit: she’s a terrific young prospect with huge upside, who is a dynamic and entertaining fighter, and who is also a fan favorite. Many thought she would transfer from Invicta in time for this past Saturday’s UFC 188 in Mexico City.
Grasso did attend UFC 188, but as a spectator instead of as a fighter. With her was friend and fellow Invicta fighter Bantamweight Irene Aldana (5-0), whom many also think the UFC should sign.
Dana White explained at the UFC 188 post-fight presser why both Grasso and Aldana hadn’t yet made the move to his promotion:
“They want to win titles before coming over. I’m doing what they want.”
Much respect to Grasso and Aldana.
Irene Aldana fights Tonya Evinger (15-5) for the vacant Bantamweight belt at Invicta FC 13 on July 9.
