Livia Renata Souza (8-0) won an upset victory by triangle choke in round four, taking the Invicta FC Strawweight World Championship from Katja Kankaanpää (10-2-1) at Saturday’s Invicta FC 12 in Kansas City, MO.
Vanessa Porto (18-6) defeated fellow Flyweight Roxanne Modafferi (17-12) by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27-30-27) in a terrific rematch that played out much closer than indicated by the scorecard.
Faith Van Duin (7-1), making her US featherweight debut, submitted Amanda Bell (3-3) by rear naked choke early in the second round.
Raquel Pa’aluhi (5-4) anchored the main card with her impressive Fight of the Night bantamweight bout win over Ediane Gomes (10-4) by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).
Latoya Walker (5-0) kept her undefeated record with a unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) in her bantamweight prelims match-up with Peggy Morgan (3-3).
Lacey Schuckman (11-8) quickly dominated fellow strawweight Jenny Liou (3-2), clinching a win with a round one TKO.
Sharon Jacobson (3-1) won by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) against Delaney Owen (3-2) in a real slugfest, earning both strawweights Fight of the Night bonuses.
Shannon Sinn (2-2) defeated fellow flyweight and former training partner Maureen Riordon (0-2) by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28).
Sijara Eubanks (1-0) made an impressive pro debut against Bantamweight opponent Gina Begley (0-1), ending late-to-the-card Begley’s evening with a TKO in round one.
