Invicta FC 13 results: Two new champs & one fast, brutal title retention

Invicta FC 13, a seven-fight card with three title fights, gave us two new champions and four finishes. Here’s the breakdown, with our favorite pics from Invicta’s Facebook album:

Cristiane Cyborg Santos (14-1) TKOs Faith Van Duin (5-2) at 0:45 of the first round, retaining her featherweight title. Cyborg received a Performance of the Night bonus. The knee that was the beginning of the end:

Tonya Evinger (16-5) TKOs Irene Aldana (5-2) at 4:38 of the fourth round to claim the bantamweight title. Right before the referee stepped in to stop the fight:

Ayaka Hamasaki
( 12-1) takes the atomweight belt in Herica Tiburcio’s (9-3) first title defense via split decision.

Bantamweight: Pannie Kianzad (8-0) wins via unanimous decision against Jessica-Rose Clark (5-2).

Atomweight: Amber Brown (5-1) submits Catherine Costigan (5-1) via rear naked choke at 3:34 of round one.

 

  Strawweight: Jamie Moyle (3-0) defeats Amy Caldwell-Montenegro (6-2) via split decision, earning a Fight of the Night bonus. montenegromoyle   Featherweight: Amber Leibrock (1-0) defeats Marina Shafir (1-2) via KO at 37 seconds into round one. Leibrock received a Performance of the Night bonus.

During the card, Invicta FC president Shannon Knapp announced that Invicta 14 would take place on September 12 in Kansas City, featuring a strawweight title fight between current champ Livia Renata Souza (8-0) and Alexa Grasso (7-0).
