Bethe Correia’s Cheap Shot at Ronda Rousey: “I hope she does not kill herself later on”

Pre-fight trash talking is a time-honored tradition in MMA, but Bethe Correia’s (9-0) latest remarks aimed at Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey (11-0) are a definite hit below the belt.

Correia, slated to meet Rousey at UFC 190 in Rio de Janeiro, told Brazilian media outlet Combate:

“Under pressure, she is proving weak. When her mom put pressure on her, she ran away from home. When she lost, it was because of drugs. That’s not a superhero. She is not mentally healthy, she needs to take care of herself. She is winning, so everybody is around her cheering her up, but when she realizes she is not everything that she believes she is, I don’t know what might happen. I hope she does not kill herself later on {Correia laughs}. “

Wishing suicide on anyone is at best tasteless, but Rousey’s father committed suicide due to chronic pain from an accident when she was eight-years-old.

Rousey responded:

No one really expects Correia to win her title bout against Rousey, but this cheap shot may have earned her a dislocated elbow on August 1.bethe
