UFC Champion Ronda Rousey says Joanna Jedrzejczyk is a badass, “couldn’t respect her more”

Even UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey (11-0) is impressed by strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk (10-0), who defended her title on Saturday at UFC Berlin for the first time. In a one-sided brawl with contender Jessica Penne (12-3) (which you can watch here!), Jedrzejczyk kept her belt with vicious striking that bloodied Penne’s face and led to a TKO in round three.

For the new women’s division, it’s exciting that the emerging champion is so dominant. Rousey took to Twitter to compliment Jedrzejczyk.

Jedrzejczyk returned the compliment.

Joanna Champion is proving herself to be dominant in social media and mindgames, too. Following her weigh-in where she offered Penne a pasta necklace – and then another one after Penne batted the first aside – and a photograph of herself eating penne pasta, Jedrzejczyk tweeted this two days after her successful defense:

No word yet on the champion’s next challenger, but the rumor is that the winner of Claudia Gadelha (12-1) vs. Jessica Aguilar (19-4), at UFC 190 on August 1, will face Jedrzejczyk.
