UFC Announces Complete TUF 20 Cast, Filming Begins

On Thursday, July 3rd, the UFC has announced the complete Ultimate Fighter Season 20 cast, with filming having begun just a day earlier. As previously announced, this season marks the crowning of the inaugural UFC Strawweight Champion, with many Top 10 or Top 20 fighters involved. While not every top strawweight will be involved, it certainly will be the most legitimate Strawweight World Championship to date, and will be one of two fighters away from establishing a true consensus. On top of that, it’s the most ambitious season of The Ultimate Fighter since Season 1, with a radical change in format and significance. Even UFC fans who are not WMMA fans may welcome the new sense of urgency present in a world title tournament, coming on the heels of the mediocre TUF 19.

The UFC also made the unusual step of having all cast members be present that day to talk to the media in Las Vegas, just prior to UFC 175. Filming is expected to last about six weeks.

WomensMMA.com will be releasing a complete in-depth preview on the entire cast in the near future, but for now we figure we’d at least report on who’s made it into the house. Following the UFC signing 11 fighters from Invicta last December for the show, the UFC announced open tryouts for the remaining slots in April. With three of the women removed for various reasons, a total of eight additional fighters were added via tryouts. See the complete list is below.
